About

Third Thoughts seeks to demystify complex issues in a confusing world. That means taking a step back from the current news cycle to really think about moral challenges and historical context behind contemporary policy issues.

Who’s behind it. TT is an ex-academic political scientist and philosopher turned freelance educator, content creator, and data analyst. An educator with more than fifteen years experience teaching both undergraduates and high school students, he thinks the world would be a better place if everyone was just a little bit more curious about the world around them.

What you’ll find here. There are three main types of content on this site. - Dashboards are interactive explainers of recent events with visual aids - current conflicts, elections, new laws of interest, etc. - Videos links to my Youtube channel focused on moral philosophy and intellectual/political history. Go there for detailed explanations of important concepts, the history of social movements, and similar information. - Articles is more traditional written context, usually longer-form opinion pieces on the merits of a policy, or a philosophical idea I want to explore. This content is the least frequent, and most likely to present my personal opinions and analysis.
